Lesson
36: Situational Response
We
adjust to our conditions, but we must never become predictable, letting our
actions expose our condition. Once we become predictable, people will learn how
to outmaneuver us. To be successful at bluffing our opponents, they should not
be able to look at our actions and determine our true situation. In chapter 9,
Sun Tzu goes into a great deal of detail about how we can determine our
opponents' true condition by looking at how they behave. We must avoid being
this predictable.
