Lesson 47: The Effect of Geography

Those who worry about competitors half a world away are basically admitting that they are so inferior that their tremendous advantage of locality doesn't matter. They are saying that even with the costs of transportation and communication, they cannot do as good a job as a distant competitor. Sun Tzu would say that because of the costs of distance, free trade is not nearly as big a danger to local workers as is poor education.
